INTRODUCING THE FACULTY & STAFF OF LUTHERAN HIGH NORTHEAST

Dan Sievert is Principal and Executive Director.

Fred Aufdembrink is our Development Director. Fred graduated from Concordia Seward, where he majored in DCE, elementary education, and theology; and minored in music. He served as Director of Children’s Ministry and Youth at Trinity Lutheran Church, Atchison, Kansas; also at Faith Lutheran Church in Hastings, Nebraska. Fred has served at LHNE since 2006. He also serves as Development Director for the Lutheran High School of Northeast Nebraska Educational Foundation.

Hope Beam has served as computer and business teacher at LHNE since 1998. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Vocational Business Education from Wayne State College and her Masters in Education from the University of Nebraska in Kearney. She currently teaches business classes, is Media Specialist and is faculty advisor to the FBLA. Hope also teaches classes at Northeast Community College in Norfolk.

Phil Carlson was called to LHNE in 2007. He previously taught at Cannon Valley Lutheran High School in Morristown, Minnesota. Phil is a graduate of Concordia Seward where he majored in life sciences and received a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. Phil is working on his Master's degree from Concordia University in Mequon, WI. He currently teaches science classes, serves as assistant wrestling coach and is our Quiz Bowl advisor.

Brenda Fowlkes serving as Art, English 11 and Practical Life Skills Classes.

Kathy Gebhardt Algebra 1 and Pre-Algebra.  Head Volleyball Coach.

Andrew Keseman joined our staff in 2014 and is currently teaching World Lit., British Lit., and Geography.

Linsey Keseman joined our staff in 2015 and is currently teaching English 9 and is our guidance counselor.

Perry Miller joined our staff in January, 2013, to serve as Director of Spiritual Life & theology teacher. A graduate of Concordia University in Irvine, CA, Perry formerly served at Los Angeles Lutheran High School in Sylmar, CA; Concordia High School in Tomball, TX; and Salem Lutheran School, also in Tomball, TX. Perry has served as a religion teacher, p.e. teacher, coach, Director of Spiritual Life, A.D., & choir director. He is also a graduate of L.A. Lutheran High School in Los Angeles.

Elizabeth Osten is teaching Geometry, Advanced Math and Calculus.

Rev. Leon Rosenthal is teaching Doctrine 11.

Darin Suckstorf did his student teaching at LHNE, then was called to serve as mathematics and physical education teacher in 2007. Prior to that he taught in public education. He received his Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Concordia Seward, where he double-majored in physical education and mathematics. He recently received his Master's in educational administration from UNK. He currently teaches math, health, and physical education classes. He serves as head football coach. He served as head girls' basketball coach in 2013-2014. Beginning in 2014-15, he will serve as head boys' basketball coach.

Preston Sunderman accepted our call to serve as full-time social studies teacher in 13-14. He is a 2009 graduate of LHNE & a May 2013 graduate of Concordia Seward. His teaching assignments will be World History (Gr 9), U.S. History (10), and American Government/Modern U.S. History (12).

Maria Sweigard taught Spanish at LHNE in 2000-2001, took time out to raise a family, and returned to LHNE in 2006. She is a part-time teacher of Spanish classes. Maria graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota.
